TRENTO ECONOMY FESTIVAL - Towards a more sustainable, inclusive, intelligent and technological model of economic development: the Fondazione Hub Innovazione Trentino (HIT), an instrumental body of the Autonomous Province of Trento that deals with enhancing the results of Trentino research, took part in the 17th edition of the Festival with an event at the Fondazione Caritro Conference Room. The meeting, entitled "Enterprises and Territories in the European Union: Digitisation and Green Transition", scheduled as part of the "Economies of the Territories" programme, was attended by Anna Ascani, undersecretary of the Ministry for Economic Development, Roberto Viola, director general of DG CNECT (Directorate General for Communication Networks, Content and Technologies) at the European Commission, and Achille Spinelli, councillor for economic development, research and employment of the Autonomous Province of Trento. The meeting was moderated by Il Sole 24 Ore journalist Luca De Biase.
In the audience, for the HIT Foundation, President Ivonne Forno, Operations Director Andrea Sartori and Head of European Affairs Fabrizio Gentili were present.
Councillor Spinelli, when asked about the Pnrr, explained that "in Trentino we are trying to be consistent with our development plan; we are working on the integration of digital systems, inspired by simplicity and transversality, trying to create added value for the economic system, while also allowing the technological processes of companies to be overhauled with appropriate services and incentives". And, on the subject of the digital and green transition in small territories like ours, he said that "an OECD study has identified Trentino as the ideal destination for thirty-year-old Europeans in the coming years: in terms of quality of training and lifestyle, which knows how to combine the demands of the world of work with those of personal and family life, a fact that confirms a new centrality of the territories after the pandemic".
