"We learnt with sorrow of the passing of Professor Francesco Furlanello, a luminary in the field of cardiology and arrhythmology in particular. Furlanello was truly one of the fathers of modern cardiology. It was he who founded the cardiology department of the Santa Chiara Hospital and brought about a real revolution by focusing on patients, giving them responsibility for their state of health. He was internationally known and respected for his authority and profound experience in the field of arrhythmias and other cardiac pathologies in sportsmen and women, both competitive and amateur. His presence truly honoured Trentino, and as administrators, as a community, we want to express our condolences,' said Provincial Councillor for Health, Social Policies, Disability and Family Stefania Segnana, also on behalf of the Provincial Government.
