Where the States General of the Mountains had held their concluding event, the Provincial Council met today for its weekly session. "Our commitment to the territory continues," emphasised president Maurizio Fugatti, recalling the focus - which involved valleys and cities - dedicated to the relationship between large centres, valley floors and territories to counter depopulation. The executive reached Comano Terme this morning, where he met the mayor Fabio Zambotti and the other first citizens of the Giudicarie Esteriori. Representatives of the police force, the volunteer fire brigade and the various associations in the area also took part in the greeting meeting that preceded the council meeting. "Listening to administrators and local communities was fundamental for us to take stock of our priorities. The territories ask us first and foremost for works that aim to improve the quality of life of residents and that favour accessibility for guests," explained President Fugatti. A priority work for this land is the Ponte Arche variant, as vice-president Mario Tonina recalled: 'This is an intervention that has been awaited for at least 30 years,' he said, highlighting how the value of this initiative has been recognised by the Council itself, which has appointed extraordinary commissioner Guido Moutier in order to 'speed up implementation as much as possible'.
