Great attendance at the third regional congress "Cardiology of Sport" held today in Rovereto and dedicated in particular to the sharing of diagnostic paths of athletes with potential cardiological problems.
After the stages in Caldaro in 2017 and Rovereto in 2019, today's conference was once again an opportunity to create a network between cardiologists and sports physicians and to optimise the management of athletes and resources used in screening.
Health Councillor Stefania Segnana spoke at the opening of the proceedings, emphasising the importance 'of collaboration between hospital and territory, and even more so between professionals for a complete taking charge of the patient. An approach that is in the spirit of today's working day. Among the strategies put in place to make up for the shortage of medical figures even in sports medicine, it is necessary, as is happening at a national level, to focus on tools such as telemedicine and teleconsultation. It is in this direction that the agreement signed at the end of January for the new objectives between local medical doctors and the Autonomous Province of Trento is going, with an investment of 12 million euro and the activation of five projects, including one aimed at telemedicine. The objective,' Segnana concludes, 'is to reduce waiting lists and improper accesses to the emergency room.
