To understand the real needs of the territory and the requirements of the various public personal services agencies, to set up a shared strategy to deal with various issues arising in the facilities, and to get a complete picture of local realities: these are some of the motivations that led the councillor for health, social policies and cooperation to visit the Trentino APSPs. Yesterday, the councillor was at the 'Civica di Trento', which is based at the RSA San Bartolomeo in Via della Malpensada, where he met the board of directors led by Michela Chiogna, also president of Upipa, the director Francesca Galeaz, the staff, guests and representatives of the families of the four facilities that make up the APSP. The meeting was also attended by the mayor of Trento.
The councillor emphasised the importance of being able to analyse the problems of the various facilities he has been visiting since the beginning of the legislature, in order to then share a path and plan interventions in relation to the needs and requirements that were presented during the listening phase. He then emphasised the value of the employees' skills, also mentioning those who gave themselves with a spirit of service during the difficult Covid period and the closure of the agreement with the trade unions, which provides for a total of EUR 3 million in recognition for all staff. In his speech, the councillor touched on the most urgent issues affecting the care sector and society in general, such as the falling birth rate and the ageing population: in order to deal with these issues, it is necessary to be able to look ahead, and the policies pursued so far, thanks to the special Autonomy of Trentino, have made it possible to guarantee better conditions and a high quality of life for the elderly, but it is above all for the young that action must be taken. This is why more must be done in the field of prevention. Politicians must believe in this, they must be able to work across the board and it is precisely Autonomy which can help to realise this vision, also as a form of gratitude to all those people, now elderly, who contributed to the rebirth of our territory in the post-war period and to the growth of Trentino.
