Experts surveyed a brood in Val di Rabbi, in the Stelvio National Park. One of the young took its first flight on 16 July.
Extinct in the Alps in the 1930s, the bearded vulture was the subject of a reintroduction project in the Alpine arc in the 1990s - 2000s, which the Stelvio National Park also joined with the release of young bearded vultures from zoos. Twenty years ago, in a nest in the Braulio Valley, Stelvio was born, the first wild bearded vulture to be born in Italy and the second ever in the European Alps.

Vallelaghi, close encounter bear-biker

Late today morning, at around 11.30 a.m., a biker was chased by a bear while he was walking along a path in the locality of Ciago, in the hamlet of Vezzano, municipality of Vallelaghi.
The man, having been chased for a few dozen metres by the plantigrade, fled, moving away from the animal.Forestry personnel are currently on the scene for the investigation.

Today, the provincial councillor for craftsmanship, commerce, tourism, forestry, hunting and fishing, Roberto Failoni, went to the Santa Chiara hospital in Trento to meet the French tourist who was attacked yesterday, Tuesday 16 July, in Naroncolo, in the municipality of Dro.
"I wanted to show, in person, my closeness and that of the entire provincial executive, and to verify his health condition,' said the councillor. 'I met an exceptional person, calm and in good condition. My wish is that he will soon be able to leave the hospital and be reunited with his loved ones'.

French tourist attacked by bear: suture wound operation successfully completed

In relation to this morning's bear attack, which took place in the locality of Narancolo, in the municipality of Dro, the Autonomous Province of Trento announces that the operation to suture the wounds sustained by the person involved, a 43-year-old French citizen, who was never in danger of dying, has been positively concluded.
For the tourist, who will be discharged in the next few days from Trento's Santa Chiara Hospital, a prognosis of twenty days has been set.
The man remained conscious at all times and autonomously called the emergency services, who intervened within minutes and helicoptered him to the Santa Chiara hospital, where he was immediately treated by the medical staff.

Dro, man injured by a bear at Naroncolo

This morning, a foreign tourist was attacked by a bear at Naroncolo, in the municipality of Dro.
The man was rescued by medical staff and he was helicoptered to the Santa Chiara hospital in Trento with wounds to his limbs.
The forestry personnel, who are conducting the relevant investigations, also intervened promptly.
