The challenges and opportunities related to professional and life choices in mountain areas were the focus of the camp held in the first half of July in the Vercors foothills of the Alps, in south-eastern France, at the local adult vocational training centre (AFRAT) and reserved for a group of 13 young people from France, Italy and Switzerland.
The camp, called "Discover Mountain Jobs", was initiated by the experts of EUSALP Action Group 3, which deals with the labour market, education and training and is coordinated by the Autonomous Province of Trento through the Language Minorities and External Relations Service. The activity is financed by the Project "Support EUSALP" and is part of the Group's priority "youth and work", aimed at making young people aware of mountain professions and employment opportunities in the Alps, in order to motivate them to settle in medium and high mountain territories, to preserve the cultural heritage of these territories and to contrast depopulation phenomena towards urban centres.
