The vice-president and education councillor Francesca Gerosa, visiting the Lases primary school this morning, was welcomed by the mayor Antonio Giacomelli, deputy mayor Mara Tondini, municipal councillors Letizia Campestrini and Graziano Micheli, and councillors Norberto Fedrizzi, Silvano Casagranda and Maria Lucia Ioriatti.
At the centre of the meeting, which was followed by one with some of the school's mothers and teachers, was a discussion on the structure that accommodates the community's 30 children and on plans for the future. Welcoming Councillor Gerosa to the school were the children themselves, who talked about their activities and shared some personal experiences of fellow pupils from other countries.
This is how the vice-president put it: 'the primary school in Lases shows a very strong ability to welcome foreign children and to involve their parents, who willingly participate in the activities and thus become an additional resource for the school, making the community even stronger. In today's visit, I saw a great spirit of cooperation, almost in a kind of familiarity, even in the approach to dealing with difficulties. In addition to the families, I want to thank the teachers and all the school staff, who work in the multi-grade classes, creating that added value that is making the difference by educating children who are engaged and eager to help and support each other," concluded the vice president.
