Fuel: technical certification of road system

Following the installation of a new road fuel distribution system or its refurbishment of an existing system, the certification of the qualified technician attesting to the conformity of the system with the authorisation must be forwarded to the competent office (within 90 days of the end of the installation/refurbishment works).

This communication represents the acceptance of the system and, in the case of a newly installed system, allows the request for the issue of the tax licence required to operate the system to be forwarded to the Customs Monopolies Agency.

Any person who, in the case of a new opening or total or partial renovation, operates a road or motorway service station without having submitted the certification shall be subject to an administrative sanction of payment of a sum of between EUR 500 and EUR 3,000.

Owners of petrol stations who have applied for authorisation to install a new installation/renovate an existing roadside petrol station.

The dossier must be submitted via the portal https://www.impresainungiorno.gov.it/. A guide on how to complete the dossier online is available at the bottom.

The certification must be sent to the competent office within 90 days of the completion of the installation/renovation work.

The certification is verified by the competent office and included in the fuel distribution facility's file. The competent office shall inform the user if any further formalities are necessary.
