Description
In the event of unforeseeable situations preventing the regular operation of a roadside petrol station, the suspension of fuel dispensing activities is permitted.
If the interruption lasts up to 30 days, the circumstance must be communicated to the Province using the methods described in the special service "Fuel: suspension of roadside service station activity for up to 30 days" (see further information section below)
Suspension of activity for longer than 30 days or if the interruption of activity already communicated extends beyond 30 consecutive days or 60 days in total within a calendar year, any other suspension must be authorised in advance.
Suspension for periods longer than 30 days may only be authorised in the following cases
- for alterations to the town planning or road layout of the place where the facility is located, for the period established by the municipality or by the body owning or managing the road
- for documented cases of force majeure, for a maximum total period not exceeding three years in any five-year period.
In this case, authorisation for suspension must be requested by means of the form "Application for Authorisation to Suspend Activities for more than 30 days".
Restrictions
An administrative penalty of between 100 and 600 euros is imposed on anyone who suspends activity without authorisation.
