Extraordinary contribution for the purchase of new accommodation for persons with disabilities

Extraordinary contribution, up to a maximum of 60,000.00 euro, for the purchase of a new, already accessible dwelling for severely disabled persons who cannot remove architectural barriers on their current and only dwelling.

Description

It is possible to apply for a contribution up to a maximum of 60,000.00 euro for thepurchase of a new accessible accommodation if both of the conditions listed below are met :

a) interventions to eliminate or overcome architectural barriers, provided for by other provincial contributions, are not feasible or effective for technical and structural reasons, in the only housing owned, co-owned, usufruct or dwelling of the person with disabilities or another member of his/her household, where he/she resides, taking into account the type, characteristics, seriousness of his/her disability or the prospects for its evolution

b) other measures or interventions provided for by the provincial laws to meet the housing need are not possible, verified through the involvement of the competent provincial structures (unavailability of ITEA accommodation) and of the local authorities where the household resides (municipality).

Who it's for

Eligible persons are those who

  • have physical, sensory or mental disabilities with disability code 05 or 06, or equivalent situation;
  • permanently encounter obstacles, limitations or hindrances in using their home of residence;
  • have had their registered residence for at least 2 continuous years in a municipality in the Province of Trento; in the case of minors, the requirement of having had their registered residence for at least 2 continuous years may refer to at least one of their parents or, in the case of a foster child, to at least one of the foster carers;
  • they have a family economic situation corresponding to a Family Economic Condition Indicator "I.C.E.F." not exceeding 0.90;
  • they are owners, co-owners, usufructuaries or enjoy the right of habitation of a single dwelling on which it is not possible, for technical and structural reasons, to carry out work to remove architectural barriers in order to make it functional to the needs of the person concerned
  • they do not own, or a member of their household does not own, any other housing on the national territory, with reference to the 12 months preceding the date of submission of the application.

The application may be submitted by the user or by the person legally representing him/her (e.g. guardian, curator, support administrator, parent in the case of minors).

What to do

The application can be submitted at the PAT peripheral counters

or at patronage offices that have an agreement with the Province of Trento.

What you need

Documents to be submitted

  • a copy of the certification attesting to the disability condition, issued by a public medical commission;
  • a copy of the medical certificate dated no earlier than six months from the date of submission of the application, stating that, in relation to the physical condition deriving from the pathology from which the disabled person suffers, a housing unit with access free of architectural barriers, which is the subject of the application, is necessary or in any case indispensable to alleviate the difficulties in relation to the person's actual personal, family and social needs
  • a technical report drawn up by a qualified professional stating that, for technical and structural reasons, in the only accommodation in the province of Trento owned, jointly owned, with right of usufruct or dwelling by the disabled person or another member of his/her household, it is not possible or effective to carry out interventions to allow the disabled person to carry out everyday activities independently, taking into account the type, characteristics, seriousness of his/her disability or the prospects for its development
  • cost estimate (or receipted invoices) relating to technical expenses;
  • cost estimate relating to notarial expenses;
  • technical report, signed by a qualified technician, certifying that the new dwelling to be purchased is accessible, accompanied by photographic documentation, land registry views and maps of the new dwelling.

The application may be submitted from 2 January to 31 March each year.

Expenditure on the purchase of a new accessible housing unit must be accounted for within one year from the date of receipt of the grant notice, using the form provided (forms section).
