Classification of open-air accommodation

  • Active

The classification states the name, type and classification level assigned to the open-air tourist accommodation.

Description

Classification is compulsory, precedes and is a prerequisite for exercising the activity.

The classification is the document/provision certifying the name, type and classification level assigned to the open-air accommodation facility (campsite, camping-village). In relation to their requirements, open-air accommodation facilities are classified into five levels marked 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 star.

Classification can be achieved in two different ways:

1) Application for classification to be submitted to the provincial structure responsible for tourism in the following cases

  • new establishment
  • changes involving a change in classification level (increase or decrease in stars) following a change in parameters and requirements
  • change of type (e.g. change from campsite to camping-village)

2) Notification of classification to be presented to the competent provincial structure, in the event that the changes made to the structure do not involve changes to the classification level or type.

Restrictions

The application and/or notification for classification cannot be accepted if the submitted documentation does not meet the minimum structural, functional parameters for the 1-star classification level.

Who it's for

The application and/or notification of classification is submitted to the provincial structure responsible for tourism, by the owner or manager of the facility.

The application may be submitted by the owner or manager of the facility by filling in the appropriate forms.

What to do

The application and/or communication of classification is submitted to the provincial structure responsible for tourism.

The application or classification notice, to be completed on the appropriate form, may be submitted in a single hard copy or sent by PEC to serv.turismo@pec.provincia.tn.it accompanied by a copy of the applicant's valid identity document.

The necessary documentation to be attached is indicated in the dedicated forms for each of the procedures.

Timeframes and deadlines

30 days

Maximum no. of waiting days

The administrative procedure connected to the application and/or communication for classification has a maximum duration of 30 days, starting from the date following the submission of the application and/or communication, except for possible suspensions, if any, adequately communicated and motivated in accordance with the regulations in force regarding participation in provincial administrative action. The issuance of the classification measure, linked to the relative application, includes the phases of technical-administrative investigation of the documentation and the adoption of the measure, a copy of which will be transmitted to the municipality competent for the territory by the provincial structure responsible for tourism.

At the conclusion of the procedure, in the event of a positive outcome, the interested party receives a copy of the administrative measure from the Tourism and Sport Service and notification of the conclusion of the procedure.

The provincial structure responsible for tourism shall, ex officio, provide for the classification of the open-air accommodation facility if it is ascertained at any time that the classification parameters possessed do not correspond to the classification level previously assigned to the same facility. Classification shall be revoked ex officio if it is ascertained at any time that even one of the parameters for a 1-star classification is not met, subject to a warning to restore the requirements within the allotted time limit.
