Opening or modifying an open-air accommodation facility

Open-air accommodation facilities are accommodation establishments open to the public equipped for the temporary stay and accommodation of tourists, located in fenced areas and constantly controlled by appropriate surveillance systems.

Open-air accommodation facilities are divided into the following types

• campsite
• campsite-village
• campsite-village (the latter type is to be considered 'residual' and therefore can no longer be built ex novo, but only modifications to the existing structure are admissible)

Depending on their type, open-air accommodations must meet the minimum requirements of the regulations in force.

Owners of camping areas or owners of existing open-air accommodation facilities

To open an open-air accommodation facility, it is necessary to

• Check urban planning compatibility with the technical office of the relevant municipality (go to the list of municipalities in Trentino)

• Obtain the building permit required to carry out the work

• Classify the open-air accommodation facility by filling in a specific application(see application form) or communication(see communication form)

• Submit the SCIA - segnalazione certificata di inizio attività (certified start-up notification) - to the relevant municipality to start the activity by contacting the Office for Economic and Productive Activities or by logging on to Suap/Impresa in un giorno

To modify an open-air accommodation facility, it is necessary to

• Obtain the necessary building permit to carry out any interventions

• Classify the open-air accommodation facility by filling in a specific application(see application form) or communication(see communication form)
