Description
The silvo-pastoral estates manage their forests and open areas with company forest management plans, in which the size and characteristics of the forests they own and their capacity to perform various ecosystem services, including protection and production services, are defined. In particular, the plans define the quantities and methods of timber or wood harvesting according to sustainability principles. If the plans fall within Natura 2000 areas, their contents are publicised in order to allow anyone to submit comments, for the purposes of environmental impact assessment.
