Description
The Agency’s main task is to manage and disburse Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) grants by authorising and making payments, recording expenditure, checking the regularity of payments, reporting to the relevant authorities (such as AGEA and the European Commission) and recovering unduly received subsidies.
The CAP’s financial instruments are the EAFRD and EAGF funds. The EAFRD supports rural development, agricultural competitiveness, the environment and the quality of life in rural areas, whilst the EAGF finances direct payments and agricultural market measures.
