Permitted activities

Limits and prohibitions

• Conduct of agricultural activity in the cultivated fields using normal cultivation systems, provided they are compatible with the maintenance of the special characteristics of the Provincial Nature Reserve.
• Access by water and land to currently existing docks for owners or tenants, with entry and exit by watercraft without the use of a motor.
• Pawn fishing for holders of exclusive rights recognised on the basis of the 1899 concession and subsequent amendments.
• Shore fishing and bathing for the stretch between the 'Valene' road and the limits of the Provincial Nature Reserve to the south (level crossing).
• Interventions for the conservation, environmental recovery and public enjoyment of the Provincial Nature Reserve, provided for by a specific interdisciplinary plan approved by the provincial service responsible for protected areas.

• Modify or alter in any way the elements that make up the Provincial Nature Reserve.
• Deposit waste or materials of any kind and to carry out excavations, changes of cultivation, land reclamation or draining works.
• Cultivating quarries and peat bogs and revoking authorisations already granted for this purpose.
• Introducing, removing or damaging plants and mushrooms of any species, except for scientific and conservation reasons of the Provincial Nature Reserve, subject to authorisation by the Provincial Service responsible for protected areas.
• Kill, disturb, introduce or take any animal species, except for scientific and conservation reasons and for fishing in the specified cases.
• Introducing waste water or water that may alter the particular characteristics of the Provincial Nature Reserve.
• Use of pesticides, herbicides, mineral or organic fertilisers that may trigger eutrophication or permanently alter the biochemical characteristics of the waters. In particular, for weedkillers, all desiccants and products based on simazine and atrazine are not allowed, only those with non-residual products are tolerated. For fertilisation, organic and inorganic fertilisers heavily polluted with heavy metals are not permitted. For treatments, captan and vinclozolin products are not permitted; the use of rodenticides (except for 'chlorophacinone' baits) is prohibited.
• Crossing the area by overhead power lines or telephone lines.
• Overflying the Provincial Nature Reserve at low altitude with planes or helicopters.
• Sounds, lights, disturbing noises
• Circulating with vehicles of any kind for pleasure.
• Bathing along the banks and in the water in front of the reedbed, except in the permitted stretch (Valene).
• Use of watercraft of any kind, except for the owners of existing docks for the exit or shelter of watercraft.
• Camping, lighting fires, letting dogs or other domestic animals roam.
• Entering the protected area outside the marked paths, except for owners, usufructuaries, tenants or holders in other capacities and persons carrying out scientific, surveillance and management activities.
