Description

This was the second meeting of the"Glacier Days" cycle organised by the Cabina di regia delle aree protette e dei ghiacciai (Glacier and Protected Areas Steering Committee).

The meeting, on the theme "The forms of high-altitude landscapes", was held on 4 July 2023 in Caderzone Terme, in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, recognised as a Geopark precisely in relation to its geomorphological values.

The meeting addressed the geomorphological and landscape theme of glacial environments. It was an opportunity to present the work on the preparation of the new geomorphological map, conducted by the University of Pavia for the Province's Geological Service. The glacier surveys conducted by the Società degli alpinisti tridentini (SAT) were also presented as part of the investigations to measure the retreats of glacial fronts and to recount the transformation of the high-altitude landscape also through specific points of view such as toponymy.
