Provincial Fire Service Fund – Trento

The Provincial Fire Service Fund, established by Provincial Law No. 26 of 22 August 1988, is the Trento provincial branch of the Regional Fire Service Fund and is responsible for:

- the financial management of the permanent provincial fire service, including its specialist units and divisions, the provincial fire service training centre and the single emergency call centre;

- the promotion and organisation, including in collaboration with other bodies and institutions, of conferences, studies and surveys relating to fire services and civil protection;

- the production, purchase and distribution of publications, photographic documentation and information material concerning the fire service and civil protection, including for educational or public awareness purposes;

- covering or reimbursing the costs incurred by volunteer firefighters and other persons identified by resolution of the Provincial Executive in attending courses at the provincial fire service school, within the limits set by the Executive;

- the transfer to the provincial federation of voluntary fire brigades of the funds necessary for its operation, in order to achieve the objectives set out in the applicable regulations and the federation’s articles of association, taking into account the financial provisions contained in the draft budget adopted by the federation itself and submitted to the provincial treasury for subsequent approval;

- to ensure adequate insurance cover for municipal volunteer fire brigades, district unions and the federation for the performance of their respective institutional activities, including the use of service equipment;

- to cover the costs relating to the special registers of vehicles, boats and vessels referred to in the regulation issued byProvincial Presidential Decree No. 32-83/Leg of 9 October 2001 (Registration and operation of vehicles and vessels at the disposal of the fire service, the forestry corps and the civil protection service of the Autonomous Province of Trento), including the costs of training drivers of vehicles entered in the aforementioned registers and for the issue and administration of service licences;

- insurance cover for damage sustained by the vehicles referred to in point (e quater) and for accidents involving drivers and passengers not covered by the Province’s general insurance policies, in accordance with the criteria and procedures laid down by the Provincial Executive;

- insurance cover for damage sustained by those taking part in, or affected by, fire-fighting and civil protection operations, in accordance with the criteria and procedures laid down by the Provincial Executive;

- insurance cover for deaths in the line of duty or arising from the line of duty of permanent or volunteer firefighters and of those taking part in fire-fighting and civil protection operations, in accordance with the criteria and procedures laid down by the Provincial Executive;

- the costs to be borne by the Province relating to the reporting of overhead cables as provided for in Article 39 ter ofProvincial Law No. 2 of 10 January 1992 (Organisation of the Province’s civil protection operations), including the costs associated with managing the provincial cable map;

- other expenses and tasks entrusted to the Provincial Fire Service Fund by the regulations in force.
