Health, environment, biodiversity and climate - SNPS-SNPA

The project is financed with resources from the National Plan for Complementary Investments (PNC) under Programme E.1 "Health, Environment, Biodiversity and Climate" intervention 1) "Comprehensive strengthening of the structures and services of SNPS-SNPA at national, regional and local level, improving infrastructure, human and technological capacities and applied research;"

The project for the Comprehensive strengthening of SNPS-SNPA structures and services at national, regional and local level, improving infrastructure, human and technological capacities and applied research is linked to the Establishment of the National System for Prevention of Health from Environmental and Climate Risks (SNPS), in line with the integrated "One health" approach and the "Planetary health" vision, to effectively address historical and emerging risks of health impacts of environmental and climate change.

To strengthen the country's capacity, effectiveness, resilience and equity in addressing current and future health impacts associated with environmental and climate risks, a series of synergistic investments are therefore defined, including the overall strengthening of SNPS-SNPA structures and services at national, regional and local levels, improving infrastructure, human and technological capacities and applied research.

Implement policies for the prevention, control and treatment of acute and chronic, communicable and non-communicable diseases related directly or indirectly to environmental and climatic factors.

The Istituto Superiore di Sanità, as implementing party, entrusted the Autonomous Province of Trento (implementing party) with the implementation of the interventions specifically indicated in the Operational Agreement and the related Additional Act.
For the implementation, the Province avails itself of the Provincial Agency for Health Services.

The implementation of the NRP in Trentino fits coherently into the programme framework for sustainable provincial development, according to the policies identified in the provincial Economic and Financial Document and its Update Note.

PNC funding: € 1,928,770.00

The Operating Agreement with the Ministry of Health and the Istituto Superiore di Sanità was signed in 2023 and subsequently updated in June 2024 (Resolutions no. 333 of 24 February 2023 and no. 873 of 17 June 2024).

The purchase of 46 pieces of equipment for the Trento hygiene laboratory was completed

The procedure for the acquisition of the additional 171 assets is in progress.
