General information
The project is co-funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme, under Key Action 2 - Partnership for Excellence, and is part of the promotion of excellence in vocational training. The initiative aims to strengthen competences in the health sector, responding to the emerging needs of a changing health care system.
It is intended to demonstrate that, with a strategic and coordinated focus on vocational training within regional health ecosystems, it is possible to contribute significantly to the advancement ofinnovation and sustainability of the health system, both at European and local level.
In fact, EUVECA was created to respond to six major challenges - the so-called 'mega trends' - that put pressure on the sustainability of the European health sector
- theageing of the population
- the growing incidence of chronic diseases and co-morbidities;
- the digital revolution and the spread of information technology;
- personalised medicine;
- the changing behaviour of citizens as health 'consumers';
- the climate crisis.
In order to address these challenges, the project envisages the creation of seven regional hubs of excellence, spaces of cooperation between training organisations, public institutions, research centres and health professionals. In parallel, a distance learning (FAD) platform will be developed with digital and accessible educational content for health professionals and students.
Goals
- Promoting excellence in health professional education through the creation of an accessible and high-quality FAD platform.
- Todevelop future-oriented skills to address emerging challenges in the health sector, such as the ageing population and the adoption of new technologies.
- Foster cooperation between European partners to share good practices and training resources.
- Building regional hubs of excellence that integrate training, research and innovation in the health sector.
