Description
In addition to the floristic and vegetational richness linked to the variability of the substratum, the interest of the wetlands should be emphasised, which represent the southward continuation of the peat bog complex, of exceptional interest, of the Alpe di Siusi (BZ).
The site is of relevant national and/or provincial interest for the presence and reproduction of endangered animal species, important glacial relicts, exclusive and/or typical of the Alps.
Habitats of special interest not included in Annex I of Directive 92/43/EEC are present: Caricetalia fuscae (3%), Caricetalia curvulae (3%).
