Description
An alpine valley of glacial origin on the southern slope of the Ortles-Cevedale group, bordered by altitudes exceeding 3,000 m; the coniferous forests (spruce, larch and stone pine) are interrupted by extensive secondary pasture clearings. The primary pastures are very extensive above the forest line.Habitats of special interest not included in Annex I of Directive 92/43/EEC are present, in particular: Caricion fuscae, Caricetalia curvulae.
