Description
A peat bog of exceptional importance, both for its state of conservation (excellent) and for the types of vegetation represented in it, evidence of a type of environment that is very rare on the entire southern side of the Alps.
It is a biotope of vital importance for the reproduction of many species of amphibians and reptiles, as well as of ornithological interest due to the presence of typical species of Alpine avifauna.
Habitats of special interest not included in Annex I of Directive 92/43/EEC are present, in particular: Caricion fuscae (10%), Molinion (acidophilous) (10%).
