Description
Area rich in endemic elements and rare species with an eastern range. High naturalness.
Classic Dolomite vegetation landscapes, here with a still rather pronounced pre-alpine imprint.
The site is of relevant national and/or provincial interest for the presence and reproduction of endangered animal species, important glacial relicts, exclusive and/or typical of the Alps.
To the rich contingent of endemic species and floristic rarities is added the presence of vegetation aspects of exceptional value (e.g. the extensive Picea forests of Paneveggio and the community of glacial springs on dolomitic detritus, which here reaches the extreme south-eastern limit of its Alpine range).
Priority habitat 6210 (wonderful orchid blooms) present with a coverage of 0.03%.
