Description
The importance of the site is due to the presence of a fragment of the valley floor riparian environment, which has been destroyed almost everywhere. The site is also of major importance for the nesting, resting and/or wintering of bird species that are protected or in strong decline, and/or have a localised distribution in the Alps.
Historical presence of Annex II lepidopterans and intact wetland species, now in sharp decline. Presence of Annex II invertebrates indicating good naturalness of running waters.
