Description
The presence of a sub-Mediterranean climate favours the development of very special Alpine vegetation, of which the holm oak and olive grove are the most conspicuous aspects.
Some important floristic rarities are also worth mentioning.
The site is also of great importance for the nesting, stopping and/or wintering of bird species that are protected or in strong decline, and/or have a localised distribution in the Alps.
Annex II invertebrates are present and are linked to forests in good natural condition.
Priority habitat 6210 (wonderful orchid bloom).
