Description
A complex of exceptional interest, due to the numerous peat bogs partly wooded with birch and Scots pine, located in a completely unusual forest context, characterised by oak.
The site is also of importance for the nesting, resting and/or wintering of protected or severely declining bird species and/or those with a localised distribution in the Alps.
It is also a vitally important biotope for the reproduction of many species of amphibians and reptiles.
There are also habitats of special interest not included in Annex I of Directive 92/43/EEC, among them many formations of the Magnocaricion.
