Gran Palu (A)

Local reserve

Peat bog - wet meadow that is part of a set of 6 protected areas (Gran Palù A and B, Palù Tremole A-B-C-D) in the Brez woods, along the road to Malga di Brez /Malga Monte Ori, municipality of Novella (Val di Non).
They are located close to the wider Palù Tremole Provincial Nature Reserve and ZSC, to which we refer you for more in-depth naturalistic information.

Palu' Tremole

Special Area of Conservation (SAC)

A peat bog with a mixed character on the mountain ridges of the upper Non Valley, partly saddle and partly slope, with the vegetation of the phontic, transitional and raised bogs (very extensive and well-preserved sphagnum bogs). On the outer edge, a strip of dwarf pine forest has developed, followed by a narrow strip of spruce, also on peat (wooded peat bog).

Palu' Tremole

Provincial nature reserve

High altitude peat bog of great naturalistic interest, surrounded by needle-leaved woodland in the upper Non Valley. It is a wetland area that is still relatively intact, characterised by the presence of three types of peat bogs: the low peat bog, the intermediate (or transitional) peat bog and the high peat bog.

The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation. It is located near the local reserves Palù Tremole A-B-C-D and Gran Palù A-B.
