Responsibilities and functions
The provincial fire-fighting fund, established by Provincial Law no. 26 of 22 August 1988, is an agency of the Autonomous Province of Trento and is responsible for
- the economic and financial management of the provincial fire brigade's permanent fire brigade, with its units and specialist sectors, the provincial fire-fighting school and the single emergency control centre
- the promotion and realisation, also in collaboration with other bodies and institutions, of conferences, studies and investigations on fire-fighting and civil protection services
- to the production, purchase and dissemination of publications, photographic documentation and information material concerning the fire-fighting and civil protection services, also for educational or dissemination purposes
- to the coverage or reimbursement of expenses incurred for attendance of courses at the provincial fire-fighting school by the volunteer fire brigades and other subjects identified by resolution of the Provincial Council, within the limits established by the latter
- to the transfer to the provincial federation of the voluntary fire brigades of the funds necessary for its operation, for the achievement of the purposes envisaged by the regulations in force and by the articles of association of the federation, taking into account the financial forecasts contained in the budget adopted by the federation itself and forwarded for subsequent approval by the cashier's office
- to ensure adequate insurance cover for the municipal volunteer fire brigades, the district unions and the federation for the performance of their respective institutional activities, including the use of service equipment
- to the expenses relating to the special registers of vehicles, boats and watercrafts referred to in the regulations issued by the President of the Province Decree no. 32-83/Leg of 9 October 2001 (Registration and driving of vehicles and boats at the disposal of the fire-fighting service, the forestry corps and the civil protection of the Autonomous Province of Trento), including the costs of training the drivers of the vehicles entered in the aforementioned registers and for the issue and management of service licences
- insurance cover for damage suffered by the vehicles referred to in subparagraph e quater) and for accidents to drivers and passengers not covered by the Province's general policies, in accordance with the criteria and procedures established by the Provincial Council
- to insurance cover for damage suffered by those taking part in fire-fighting and civil protection operations, or affected by them, in accordance with the criteria and procedures established by the Provincial Council
- to insurance cover for deaths in the line of duty or as a result of service on the part of permanent or voluntary fire-fighters and of those taking part in fire-fighting and civil defence operations, in accordance with the criteria and modalities established by the Provincial Council
- to expenditure falling within the province's sphere of responsibility in connection with the reporting of suspended cables as provided for in Article 39 ter of Provincial Law No 2 of 10 January 1992 (Organisation of the Province's Civil Protection Interventions), including the costs associated with the management of the provincial cable map
- the other expenses and tasks entrusted to the provincial fire fund by the regulations in force.
