The President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, and the Provincial Councillor for Sport, Mattia Gottardi, extend their warmest congratulations to Alessio Magagnotti, a young cyclist from Avio, born in 2007, who has become world champion in the junior team pursuit for the second year running.
After last year's success in Luoyang, China, Magagnotti conceded his encore today on the prestigious velodrome in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, once again taking the top step of the podium against Great Britain.
Together with him, Umbrian Francesco Cornacchini (Team Fortebraccio), Riccardo Colombo (Bustese Olonia) from Varese, and Tuscan Francesco Matteoli (Gb Team Pool Cantù) took world gold.
"This extraordinary result - underline Fugatti and Gottardi - confirms not only Alessio's talent and determination, but also the great cycling tradition of our territory. To him and to the whole team goes the applause of the Trentino community, proud to see one of its young athletes excel once again on the world stage".
