Late yesterday evening, a bear was run over along the SS239 road, near Borzago (municipality of Spiazzo), after suddenly invading the roadway. The animal, a female of about four years old, was seriously injured after the impact and took refuge in a nearby cornfield, never to move again. In view of the need to intervene in safety for both the animal and the Trentino Forestry Corps personnel, it was decided to proceed with the narcotization of the bear with the help of the volunteer fire brigade's ladder truck. The veterinarian on the scene found several traumas, which made an immediate release into the wild impossible. Therefore, in view of the situation, the plantigrade was transported to the Casteller Wildlife Centre. All necessary clinical examinations will be carried out to assess the actual condition of the animal.
