Trentino is one of the Autonomous Provinces and Italian Regions that have guaranteed their willingness to intervene, through their operational Civil Protection structures, in support of the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip. The modalities for coordinating aid actions - which can only be activated if security conditions permit - were the focus of the meeting of the National Civil Protection Committee, chaired by Department Chief Fabio Ciciliano. The meeting was also attended by the director general of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Raffaele De Col, in his capacity as technical coordinator of the Civil Protection Commission within the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces. In his speech, De Col confirmed that the territories will move in line with the State's guidelines and that 'availability will only be effective when there are stable security conditions for the operators who will be called upon to carry out the various activities'. Despite the ceasefire signed between Israel and Hamas, the current situation does not yet allow for an operational intervention. The planning of the national system envisages three phases: emergency assistance, consolidation of operations and multi-year reconstruction.
