After an initial reconnaissance of the places available in Trentino, within the framework of the reception system, the first 150 places for hosting refugees from Ukraine have been identified. "We will be able to find other spaces, should the situation require it," explained the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, speaking at the press conference together with the Councillor for Social Policies, Stefania Segnana. Also present were the general manager of the Civil Protection Department, Raffaele De Col, and the Cinformi manager, Pierluigi La Spada. In the afternoon, the top management of Piazza Dante took part in a technical meeting with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Prefect Gianfranco Bernabei scheduled a round table with the Province, Civil Protection, and police forces at the Government Commissioner's Office tomorrow to take stock of the situation. Finally, a current account dedicated to the emergency will be activated in the coming hours. "The people of Trentino know how to show that they are close to those who are experiencing situations of serious difficulty,' President Fugatti remarked. 'The Ukrainian people are experiencing an immense drama and in recent days important collections of material have been started: at the moment, however, the National Civil Protection advises against collecting medicines and clothing. In the meantime, in the next few hours three Red Cross trucks will transport tents and sleeping bags to the border with Poland for the temporary reception of those who are fleeing their homes but intend to return as soon as conditions allow.
