The excavation campaign that has been affecting the S. Ippolito bump in Castello Tesino since the autumn months will begin again in May. Over the past few days, the councillor for culture Mirko Bisesti has made an inspection of the area affected by the work, accompanied by Franco Marzatico, general manager of the strategic mission unit for the protection and promotion of cultural heritage and activities, Emanuele Vaccaro, associate professor of classical archaeology at the University of Trento, Franco Nicolis, director of the archaeological heritage office, and the mayor Graziella Menato. The archaeological survey, based on a protocol, envisages the collaboration of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Municipality of Castello Tesino and the University of Trento.
"An important protocol," commented councillor Bisesti, "that is already bearing its first fruits with the evidence emerging from the ground. It is a place that can become important for the knowledge of our history. Doing research on our roots, on the peoples who inhabited our territory, represents a value for all Trentino people and also for the younger generations'.
