   WATER, A MOUNTAIN RESOURCE The hydroelectric industry and the protected areas of Trentino

   MAY - JULY 2023
   Series of meetings on water as an element that characterises natural landscapes and a factor that has marked the morphology of the Alpine mountains, especially in relation to the development of the hydroelectric industry.
   The meetings are promoted by the Trentino Historical Museum Foundation and the Stelvio National Park (Trentino sector), in collaboration with the two provincial nature parks.
   Next meeting: Friday 28 July in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park

   Mori, wolf carcass recovered

   A female wolf has died along the road from Mori to Lake Loppio. The carcass was recovered yesterday evening by the Trentino Forestry Corps after a passer-by reported it. The inspection by the veterinary surgeon in the morning of today ascertained a head injury compatible with a car accident.

   Extraordinary teachers' competition: announcement for the first four classes approved

   The call for applications for the following competition classes was approved a few days ago: A001 Art and image in secondary school, A022 Italian, history, geography in secondary school, A011 Literary disciplines and Latin and A041 Computer science and technology in secondary school. The competition procedure is part of the framework notice for the extraordinary teachers' competition for access to permanent posts for teaching staff in state schools in the province of Trento, which was approved last December. The classes put up for competition have been identified, according to a priority scale, on the basis of the forecast number of vacant and available posts for the 2023-2024 school year and the consequent need for personnel, also taking into account potential retirements, as well as the current number of active lists relating to competitions for permanent recruitment.

   'Memory in the Ice. Archaeology of the Great War at Punta Linke': volume published by the Archaeological Heritage Office

   After "Archaeology of the Alps 2021-2022", the editorial activity of the Archaeological Heritage Office of the Autonomous Province of Trento's Cultural Heritage Office continues with the publication "La memoria nel ghiaccio. Archaeology of the Great War at Punta Linke", produced to complement the exhibition of the same name currently underway at the Spazio Archeologico Sotterraneo del Sas in Trento. The book, edited by Franco Nicolis, archaeologist and director of the Office for Archaeological Heritage, documents with photographs and texts the recovery from the ice of the Ortles-Cevedale area of structures from the First World War, conducted by the provincial archaeological heritage office together with a multidisciplinary team at the Punta Linke site at an altitude of 3,629 metres. The book is accompanied by the DVD 'Punta Linke. La memoria', the documentary film by Paolo Chiodarelli that retraces the stages of the research.
