The Wired Next Fest, the largest free participation event in Italy dedicated to innovation and the impact of digital technologies, arrives in Rovereto on 6 and 7 May. This year's edition will be dedicated to Italy and the story of how our country is building its future, focusing on territories and their ability to connect with the world.
During the two days Rovereto will host a widespread festival made up of meetings, exhibitions, live performances, workshops, and much more. A rich parterre of Italian and international guests will discuss the role of innovation as an instrument of growth and well-being for Italy. Scientists, technologists, large companies, SMEs, start-ups, artists and intellectuals will discuss how - even in a globalised world - local cultures and policies are able to influence innovation processes and the birth of new trends.
"We want to be a green, sustainable territory, recognised both for the beauty and liveability of its places and for being a habitat favourable to experimentation and research on the great themes that condition our lives and our future,' explains Provincial Councillor for Economic Development, Research and Labour Achille Spinelli. 'This is why we strongly wanted to bring the Wired Next Fest to Trentino, to Rovereto, and thus initiate a partnership with Wired that I am certain will be consolidated in the coming years. It is an event capable of being a showcase, but also a place of confrontation between the world of innovation and the local community. Our research and innovation ecosystem can represent a competitive advantage, but there is a need to increase its perception, to publicise the activities of our laboratories and research centres that are in our area. We want to show companies and even the youngest, who often look outside our borders in search of opportunities, that even in Trentino the conditions exist for developing innovative ideas and building a cutting-edge future."
