At the end of the long and delicate restoration work, the 17th century convent of the Inviolata will be inaugurated on Friday 14 July. Beginning at 11.30 a.m., with some musical moments by the Conservatory and, at 5 p.m., a free guided tour.
The former convent, which is owned by the municipality, had been closed for some time when, in 2010, it was decided to restore it, with a view not only to protecting its architectural and artistic heritage, but also to using the building for cultural activities and musical events, as agreed through a memorandum of understanding between the Autonomous Province of Trento and the Municipality of Riva del Garda. The works were conducted by the Superintendency of Cultural Heritage and the Province's Civil Works Service and supervised by an extended team of technicians. The project process, for which, among other things, it was necessary to uncover the wall paintings concealed by a nineteenth-century painting, began in 2010 and was completed in 2015, with an estimated cost of 3,209,428.45 euro.
