   Roncone, finds recovered for genetic identification of the bear

   Activities by the Trentino Forestry Corps continued throughout the day at the site of the encounter between the two hunters (who were on an excursion and were not armed) and the bear accompanied by a cub at dawn today. Along the Mandrel path - which leads to malga Avalina in the municipality of Roncone - some organic samples were recovered in order to genetically identify the subject: information that will enable the history of the specimen and the territory it frequented to be known, thanks to the database of the Province's Fauna Service resulting from the genetic monitoring of the ursine population. According to the dynamics of the close encounter, in order to classify this specimen as problematic according to the Pacobace (Interregional action plan for the conservation of the brown bear in the central-eastern Alps), it will therefore be necessary to complete the investigations. Following these identification checks, consequent measures may follow, including the culling of the specimen.
   In the meantime, the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, had a conversation with the bruised boy to ascertain his condition.

   The Trentino Civil Protection Department urges caution for thunderstorms that could develop between Saturday afternoon-evening and the early hours of Sunday. The phenomena could be locally intense and accompanied by hail, frequent lightning, strong wind gusts and heavy rainfall in a short time. In the morning and central hours of Sunday, the weather will be sunnier but more showers and scattered thunderstorms may develop in the late afternoon and evening.

   Tourism and hospitality, the rules for glamping

   Trentino hospitality is further qualified and the possibility for campsites to include equipped tents in their offer is regulated. With a measure proposed by tourism councillor Roberto Failoni, the provincial council approved the amendments to the implementing regulation of provincial law no. 19 of 4 October 2012, concerning open-air tourist accommodation: thus, news for 'glamping'.
   "It was necessary - underlines councillor Failoni - to intervene on the rules of this important area of Trentino hospitality, to adapt them to the needs of the operators and the demands of the market, which is asking for ever greater quality and diversification of the proposals. With the measure adopted by the Provincial Council, we complete a process of updating the rules of outdoor tourism reception carried out through constant dialogue with operators in the sector".

    Today, with two decrees that cannot be appealed, the TRGA of Trento rejected the request for suspension presented by the animal welfare associations LAV, LEAL, WWF, and LNDC against the decree with which the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, ordered the killing of two wolves from the pack that is raging and has created extensive damage in the area of Malga Boldera, on Mount Baldo.
    "There is satisfaction because in assessing the appeal against the decree, in addition to confirming that there is no threat to the conservation of the species, the Regional Court of Administrative Justice recognised the importance of protecting the livestock and environmental heritage, and more generally the economy of our mountains, issues that we have always placed at the centre of our government action," commented President Maurizio Fugatti.
