A motion for a common strategy against the bark beetle was approved today at the meeting of the Euregio Council of Municipalities that took place in Cavalese as part of the Day of the Municipalities 2023, which saw several meetings and events, with the aim of further promoting cooperation between the territories.
The motion calls on the executives of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and the Land Tyrol to take initiatives for the development of effective cross-border strategies against the proliferation of the bark beetle, but also with regard to the harvesting and utilisation of damaged timber.
"The importance of this EGTC body lies in its ability to build citizen-friendly projects and initiatives. Helping the administrations of the three territories to facilitate dialogue to find concrete solutions to real problems is certainly in the nature of our institution," commented Elisa Bertò, secretary general of the Euregio.
