The figure of Mario Pedrolli was remembered in the institutional headquarters of the Province, just a few months after his death. Head of the Forestry Service until 2004, Pedrolli was responsible, among other things, for the drafting of the General Forestry Plan and was one of the founding members of the Trentino Forestry Association, established on Saint Lucia's Day in 1977. The association dedicated ample space to his remembrance in the latest issue of the magazine Dendronatura: "Pedrolli was one of the protagonists of an important season for the forestry services in the last thirty years of the last century," emphasised the association's honorary president Remo Tomasetti, flanked by chairman Alessandro Paletto. Also present were the provincial councillor for forests, Giulia Zanotelli, and the general manager of the Civil Protection, Forests and Fauna Department, Raffaele De Col. "The important evolution of the provincial machine, over the years, has allowed the development of structures, skills and techniques that today allow us to safeguard a territory as splendid as fragile as Trentino," noted councillor Zanotelli, recalling the various challenges that see the Administration engaged, starting from the works and initiatives promoted by the Mountain Basin Service for safety, to the defence of the forest and its reconstruction by the Forest Service after Vaia and the bark beetle epidemic.
