At the Public Order and Security Committee urgently convened today by Commissioner Santarelli after yesterday's events, provincial councillor Achille Spinelli took part, representing President Fugatti and the provincial government. "The topic of security,' Spinelli recalled, 'has always been at the centre of our attention and our commitments, even though we know how these phenomena go beyond the specific competences of our autonomy. Nonetheless, the work is incessant, and in this regard I recall the recent, renewed request forwarded to the government by President Fugatti through Undersecretary Molteni to strengthen the instruments and to initiate the transfer of those minors who have proven to be problematic.
'In fact, particular reactions are triggered,' Spinelli continues, 'when the individual problematic case is replaced by a group that engages in unlawful behaviour that must be stopped immediately. This is therefore not just a matter of reception and beds, on which we are working, but of governing situations that generate degradation and that clearly risk escalating into crime. We therefore thank the forces of law and order, from the Carabinieri to the Police, from the Guardia di Finanza to the Municipal Police, for their great work. We also know that the best way to express this gratitude is by committing ourselves to further urging the State to intervene in the transfer of the most dangerous subjects to Italy and abroad'.
