Call for Visiting in Trentino 2024

This call for applications is directed at funding "Visiting" programmes for researchers and/or professors working abroad, to be implemented at Trentino research organisations, in order to reinforce a network of exchange and cooperation and enhance know-how as regards the use of innovative methodologies. The initiative also aims to facilitate the return of researchers and/or professors originally from Trentino, also on a temporary basis.

This call for proposals is aimed at funding "Visiting" programmes of researchers and/or professors working abroad, to be implemented at Trentino research organisations, in order to facilitate the strengthening of a network of exchange and cooperation and enhance know-how as regards the use of innovative methodologies.

This opportunity is also aimed at facilitating the return, albeit temporary, of researchers and/or professors from Trentino.
This call for applications is activated pursuant to Article 22 of Provincial Law no. 14 of 2 August 2005 (Provincial Research Law) and in accordance with the general lines of action outlined in the Sixteenth Legislature's Multi-Year Research Programme, approved by Resolution of the Provincial Council no. 2193 of 22 December 2020.

This call has been launched pursuant to article 22 of Provincial Law no. 14 of 2 August 2005 (Provincial Law on Research) and in accordance with the general lines of action outlined in the 16th Legislature's Long-term Research Programme, approved with Provincial Government Resolution no. 2193 of 22 December 2020.

Researchers and/or professors, Italian or foreign, working abroad. (see art 3 of the annex to the resolution)

The call is directed at researchers and/or professors with proven experience and qualifications, who carry out research or teaching activities in the scientific-disciplinary fields included in at least one of the three panels defined by the ERC4 (European Research Council), i.e. Physical Sciences and Engineering, Life Sciences and Social Sciences and Humanities.

Submission of applications
The application form and its annexes can be drafted in Italian or in English.

The forms (available in Italian and in English) include the following documents of which 4 are available in the relevant links:

1. Application form with general information about the Visiting;
2. Form A - General information and detailed programme of research and possibly teaching activities planned during the period of stay.
3. Form B - Declaration of the Host Institution, with the commitment to support the programme of research and possibly also teaching activities proposed by the Visiting;
4. Form C - Financial Plan.
5. Declaration issued by the home Institution and, where necessary for the purposes of reaching the required period in the three-year period, by any other Institutions in which the candidate has served, showing that the research and, where appropriate, also teaching activity has been carried out for a period of at least 30 months in the last three years as of the deadline for submitting applications and that, on the date of the call deadline, it is still in progress;
6. Comprehensive curriculum vitae et studiorum of the candidate showing that the research and, where appropriate, also teaching activity has been developed for a period of at least 30 months in the last three years as of the deadline for submitting applications, including a list of the most representative publications with reference to the activity to be carried out at the Host Institution (maximum 5 pages);
7. Copy of the applicant's valid passport or European identity card.
8. Any certificates or attestations in the case of citizens of non-EU countries

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

The application, completed using the above-mentioned forms, must be sent, complete with all the required documentation, in pdf format by e-mail (from an ordinary or certified e-mail address) to the following e-mail address

The application form and relative attachments may be drawn up in Italian or English and must be sent to the relevant department responsible for research in the Autonomous Province of Trento.

⮚ Declaration issued by the home organisation, and by any other institution where the candidate has worked, when necessary to reach the required duration over the threeyear period, showing that research and any additional teaching activities have been carried out for a period of at least 30 months in the last three years preceding the deadline for submitting applications and that these activities are still ongoing on the date of the deadline for submitting applications;
⮚ Comprehensive curriculum vitae for the candidate showing that research and any additional teaching activities have been carried out for a period of at least 30 months in the last three years preceding the deadline for submitting applications, including a list of the most representative publications, with reference to the activities to be carried out at the host institution (maximum 5 pages);
⮚ Copy of a valid passport or European identity card of the applicant.
