The shareholders' meeting of Trentino Trasporti S.p.A. was held today, at which the chairman Diego Salvatore presented the results of the 2023 financial year, in which the company developed a management that was always oriented towards cost containment, the completion of the actions undertaken and the careful financial management of the investments decided by the majority shareholder, with a positive closing of the financial statements amounting to €9,464.
2023 confirmed the trend of a gradual recovery in the number of passengers carried by the Company's LPT services, with an increase of 7.1% over 2022, but still below 2019 levels. It is thus confirmed that the pandemic has produced effects that are still present and in some cases have become structural: on the one hand, the loss of passengers, and on the other, the profound changes in the labour market, with companies finding it difficult to find workers to employ in their workforce. Although it is clear that the latter problem has dimensions that go well beyond the scale of the individual local company, Trentino Trasporti has put in place several initiatives aimed at mitigating the effects of this negative dynamic: the Trentino Trasporti Academy project, recognition of previous driving experience when selecting drivers, economic support for the payment of house rent for new drivers who live far from their place of work, payment of the costs of obtaining a D licence also for the staff of the rubber workshop.
The president also expressed his confidence in finding full agreement with the members on finding new economic resources to increase funding for the second-level company agreement for the three-year period 2024-2026, in which an improvement in the staff's salary situation would be envisaged.
