On Monday 27 January, Trentino too celebrates Holocaust Remembrance Day to commemorate, eighty years after the liberation of the Auschwitz and Birkenau extermination camps, the victims of the Holocaust and of deportation to the Nazi concentration camps.
The Autonomous Province of Trento is participating in the anniversary with a number of events, accompanied by a creative work realised by two students from the Istituto Pavoniano Artigianelli in Trento, who were engaged in an internship at 'Format', the Province's audiovisual centre.
"The graphics were designed to be clear and understandable to everyone," explain the students. "The barbed wire in black and white recalls the imprisonment in the lagers, with a message of pain and reflection. The colours of the text, white and red, represent hope and suffering, while the chosen phrase links the local memory to the collective one. We felt it was a simple but strong image, designed to make the viewer reflect".
The image will be published in the coming days in the main local newspapers to mark the 27 January anniversary.
Gabriele and Melissa, in fourth grade B, are currently taking part in a training placement as part of 'Gio-co' (acronym for 'young communicators'), the project promoted by the Province's Press Office, in agreement with the Department of Education and Culture, to offer practical training to young talents and strengthen the link between school and work, aiming to create a real hub dedicated to students and schools at Format, with the prospect of making it a dynamic workshop, a crossroads of ideas, creativity and professionalism.
"We delved a lot into communication methods, particularly through the work dedicated to Remembrance Day. We got on very well, the environment is pleasant and extremely stimulating,' Melissa and Gabriele commented again.
