The Trentino Civil Defence has issued an ordinary (yellow) warning for possible hydrogeological criticalities throughout the province, starting at 4 p.m. today, Monday 27 January, and until midnight tomorrow, Tuesday 28 January. The decision was taken in light of the weather and hydraulic forecasts, which indicate a significant worsening of weather conditions in the coming hours. According to Meteotrentino's forecasts, until the early hours of Tuesday, the provincial territory will be affected by strong south-westerly flows, characterised by intense and persistent rainfall, especially in the stau areas where the rainfall is more intense because the humid air masses are forced upwards by the presence of the mountains. The snow quota is expected to increase, with snowfall up to 1,900 metres or more in the southern areas and at lower altitudes in the northern areas, where snow mixed with rain can be observed even at 1,700 metres or locally lower.
