The Provincial Council today adopted the draft law regulating cableways and ski slopes, a measure that marks an important step forward for the tourism and sports sector in Trentino. This new legislation, which replaces Law 7 of 21 April 1987, aims to modernise and simplify the regulatory framework, while guaranteeing safety standards and quality of the tourism offer.
The bill is a technical text that updates the provincial regulations in compliance with Constitutional Court ruling 103/2020 and adapts them to Legislative Decree no. 40 of 28 February 2021 on safety in winter sports disciplines. At the same time, the bill safeguards some fundamental aspects for the tourism economy and the Trentino sports world, such as the classification of slopes and the supply of snowmobile shelters.
"This bill represents an investment in the future of Trentino tourism, a key sector for the provincial economy," declares Roberto Failoni, Councillor for Crafts, Commerce, Tourism, Forestry, Hunting and Fishing with responsibility for cableways. "With these new regulations, Trentino confirms its position at the forefront of sustainable and safe mountain tourism management, strengthening its position of excellence in the Italian and European Alpine panorama.
