State forests
These are the forests owned by the Province, identified as non-disposable assets for the benefit of the entire Trentino community, deserving special protection due to their high naturalistic and socio-cultural value.
Due to their importance, they have been included among the 'invariants' of the Provincial Urban Plan, as territorial elements that constitute distinctive features of the environment and territorial identity to be protected and enhanced in order to guarantee balanced and sustainable development.
The historical core of state forests is concentrated in the north-eastern sector of Trentino (Cadino, Paneveggio, San Martino di Castrozza, Valsorda and Valzanca forests) but other important properties are located in the central-southern area of the Province (Monte S. Pietro, Bondone, Scanuppia, Campobrun).
