How to exercise the profession of tourist guide in the Province of Trento.

Description

In order to exercise the profession of tourist guide in the Province of Trento, it is necessary to submit a Certified Declaration of Commencement of Activity (SCIA) to the provincial service responsible for tourism.

Who it's for

Tour leaders licensed in the Province of Trento, in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano or in other regions and persons who intend to carry out these professions on a self-employed basis and who have obtained recognition of their professional qualification.

What to do

Submit the Notification of Commencement of Activity (SCIA) via PEC at serv.turismo@pec.provincia.tn.it.

Special cases

He is not obliged to qualify as a tourist guide and submit an SCIA if he

  • carries out non-professional and non-compensated activities in favour of members or members of associations and organisations operating on a non-profit-making basis with recreational, cultural, religious or social aims, of which he/she is a member, in compliance with the provincial regulations on travel and tourism agencies
  • performs as an employee of a travel and tourism agency reception and accompaniment activities to and from airports, departure and arrival stations of collective means of transport
  • performs the activities referred to in this Law in the employ of public administrations in an employment relationship, where such activities are performed directly in favour of the same administrations;
  • technical directors of travel and tourism agencies when they occasionally perform the activities of accompanying clients of the agency within the provincial territory;
  • those who, within the framework of the provincial museum institutions and on behalf of the same or of the provincial services that report to the department responsible for culture, carry out activities aimed at promoting education to the cultural heritage through educational initiatives based on cultural projects or specific thematic in-depth studies planned and elaborated by the museum institutions or the provincial services themselves.

Timeframes and deadlines

The Department responsible for tourism issues to all those who have carried out the SCIA a badge with a photograph indicating their personal details and the profession exercised.

The badge must be kept in full view while carrying out the professional activity and must be returned to the provincial service responsible for tourism if the activity ceases.

Exercising the activity of tour leader without the relative authorisation is punishable by an administrative fine ranging from 600 to 1,800 EuroThe same sanction shall apply to anyone who, in the exercise of a business activity, uses persons without the qualification required by law.

Failure to submit the Certified Start-up Declaration is punished with a pecuniary administrative sanction ranging from 100 to 300 Euro.
