University student transport passes

The free circulation season ticket costing 70 euros per year is dedicated to university students attending the University of Trento and can be loaded onto the smart card or smartphone application.

With this season ticket, students can travel in the period 1 September - 31 August of the following year on all public transport in Trentino.

All other university students can purchase weekly or monthly passes (urban or suburban), or annual free circulation passes at a cost of 100 euro.

A smart card is required to obtain a season ticket.

Students enrolled at the University of Trento

Students who fall into one of the following categories may take out the "free circulation" season ticket

• have regular enrolment or are "awaiting graduation" in a first or second level study course: degree, single-cycle degree, 'old system' degree prior to DM 509/99, master's degree or specialist degree
• be enrolled/registered at a partner university in an inter-university course of study with UniTrento and have access to UniTrento services;
• be enrolled/enrolled in a PhD course;
• be enrolled/enrolled in a 1st or 2nd level professional master's degree course;
• be enrolled/enrolled at UniTrento under international incoming mobility agreements or programmes (e.g. you are an incoming Erasmus student, or an incoming bilateral agreement student, Double Degree, etc.);
• you are enrolled/registered in a Dual Career programme for student-athletes.

In order to benefit from the subscription, you must not be employed on a permanent basis with a commitment of more than 20 hours/week or, if on a fixed-term basis, with a commitment of more than 20 hours/week for no more than 6 months from the time of the request; in addition, you must not be employed on a full-time basis for 18 hours or more per week.

Students attending universities other than the University of Trento or other post-diploma courses

Students attending universities or para-universities other than UniTrento may subscribe if they fall into one of the following categories

• universities other than the University of Trento;
• university level courses of the Institute for Interpreters and Translators;
• scholarship/doctoral/student students;
• university level courses of the Conservatory of Music;
• higher vocational training courses;
• other para-university/post-diploma courses.

In order to benefit from the subscription, you must not work for an indefinite period of time with a commitment of more than 20 hours/week or, if on a fixed-term contract, with a commitment of more than 20 hours/week for no more than 6 months from the time of the request; furthermore, you must not work a full-time job of 18 hours or more per week.

Students enrolled at the University of Trento

The free circulation pass can be loaded onto the smart card or smartphone application.

Once the procedure has been completed, an email is sent. Once you have received this email you can upload your season ticket on the smartphone app or go to a Trentino Trasporti ticket office to request the smart card.

At the ticket office it is necessary to present the smart card application form and the self-declaration of non-employment, attached below.

Students attending Universities other than the University of Trento or other post-diploma courses

To obtain a season ticket, you must obtain a smart card using the forms below (smart card request form + self-declaration of non-employment).

Season tickets can be weekly extra-urban, monthly (urban or extra-urban) or annual free circulation (€100 annual fee) and are listed in the attached price list.

The free circulation season ticket allows travel on public transport services in Trentino and in particular

- the urban and extra-urban services of Trentino Trasporti SpA

- the Trento-Malè-Marilleva railway

- the Valsugana Railway between Trento and Primolano

- the Brenner Railway (*) between Borghetto and Mezzocorona/Ora. The Ora station can only be used for journeys to or from Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa. The ascent/descent stops of Salorno, Magrè/Cortaccia and Egna are excluded.

- the Trento-Sardagna cable car.

*excluding long-distance trains (Intercity, Eurocity, Euronight, Frecce di Trenitalia)

Euregio Ticket Students

Young people studying in the Euregio area (universities or para-university courses) can apply for theEuregio Ticket Students, which allows them unlimited and flexible use of public transport throughout South Tyrol, Tyrol and Trentino at a fixed fare.
