Description
Aid granted to supportfixed investments in tangible or intangible assetsmade by undertakings and commenced after the date on which the application was submitted.
What is funded
It is possible to obtain a grant for investment projects relating to:
- thecreation of a new operational unit;
- the expansionof the production capacity of an existing operational unit;
- thediversification of production at an operational unit to produce goods or provide services not previously manufactured or supplied at that operational unit;
- asubstantial change to the overall production process for the product or products, or to the overall provision of the service or services affected by the investment in the operational unit;
- the acquisition of assets belonging to an operational unit.
Applications are assessed through an evaluation procedure.
Incentives
The incentive, calculated on the basis of eligible expenditure, is determined according to the size of the undertaking and is granted under the exemption/de minimis regime as follows:
- under the exemption scheme pursuantto Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014:
- small enterprise: 20%;
- medium-sized enterprise: 10%.
- under the de minimis scheme pursuant to Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/2831 of 13 December 2023:
- large enterprise: 10%;
- the timber sector, the bread-making sector, and licence holders for the use of the ‘Porfido’ and ‘Pietre Trentino’ trademarks: 23 per cent, only if requested at the time of application; otherwise, the incentive is granted under the exemption scheme at the percentages set out above.
Please note!
- For applications with eligible expenditure exceeding 2.5 million euros, the incentive is reduced as set out in point 9, paragraph 2 of the specific provisions for ‘Crescita+Trentino’.
- Initiatives concerning the diversification of production or a substantial change to the production process or service provision which do not meet the eligibility criteria are nevertheless eligible for support under the de minimis rules, provided they enable the business to expand.
Expenditure limits
The following expenditure limits apply:
- minimum eligible expenditurelimit : more than 300,000 euros;
- maximum eligible expenditurelimit : none specified.
Investment projects with eligible expenditure of up to 300,000 euro may be eligible forsupport under the annual Trentino Growth Grant – Provincial Law 6/2023, provided they fall within the eligible categories.
Restrictions
Specific obligations are set out in the general provisions applicable to all initiatives and in the specific provisions for individual “Crescita+Trentino” initiatives.
These include the following obligations:
- to complete the initiative;
- to ensure that the operational unit remains within the province and that the assets benefiting from the scheme are not diverted from their intended use;
- employment-related obligations;
- economic and financial obligations.
Investment projects with eligible expenditure exceeding 2.5 million euros are also subject, for the purposes of granting the incentive, to the signing of an agreement between the Province and the company applying for the incentive. The agreement may include further obligations and conditions.
Reporting
Projects eligible for the incentive must be completed by 31 December of the third year following the year in which the incentive was granted.
A report on the expenditure incurred for which the incentive was requested must be submitted within one year of the initiative’s completion date as specified in the grant decision.
Extensions to the deadlines for completion of the initiative and/or reporting of expenditure may be granted, subject to the submission of a reasoned application to the assessing body.
